This November and December, Susanna Mälkki will conduct The Rake’s Progress at the Opéra de Paris, bringing Stravinsky’s Faustian tale to life at the iconic Palais Garnier. The production features an impressive cast, including Ben Bliss as the wayward Tom Rakewell, Iain Paterson as Nick Shadow, Clive Bayley as Father Trulove, and Golda Schultz as Ann Trulove. Rounding out the cast includes Justina Gringytė as the Mother Goose, Jamie Barton as the eccentric Baba the Turk, Rupert Charlesworth as Sellem, and Vartan Gabrielian as the Keeper of the Madhouse. Olivier Py’s striking production illuminates the opera’s themes of temptation and self-delusion, amplifying the moral descent at its core.

Performances will take place on November 30, December 4, 8, 10, 12, 17 and 23 at Opéra Garnier.
