Susanna Mälkki conducts The International Paulo Cello Competition

Susanna Mälkki leads finalists in the 6^th International Paulo Cello Competition at the Helsinki Music Centre on October 24 & 25. This prestigious competition, that has yielded accomplished musicians like Andreas Brantelid, Kian Soltani, Nicolas Altstaedt, is an international high-level event open to cellists of all nationalities aged 16–30.

The finalists will play with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Ms. Mälkki. The program will include each finalist performing one cello concerto and one of J.S. Bach’s six cello suites. These performances will be broadcasted live on October 24 & 25 at 19:00 via yle Areena.
