Susanna Mälkki will dazzle the audience at Suntory Hall on October 11 and 12 with a contrasting spring-themed program, featuring Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral”, and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.

The first piece takes the listeners on a journey in the countryside, with farmers celebrating and a terrifying storm that returns to an idyllic place, while Stravinsky’s piece evokes pagan rites in the advent of spring, in which a young girl willingly dances herself to death.
