On January 14, 16, and 19 Susanna Mälkki joins the Bayerische Staatsoper for Mozart’s classic comedy, Le nozze di Figaro. Featuring an all-star cast of acclaimed Mozarteans, director Evgeny Titov’s lively production examines humanity’s fragile morality, without sacrificing Le nozze di Figaro‘s biting satire and situational comedy.
Under Mälkki’s baton are Peter Mattei and Golda Schultz as the Count and Contessa Almaviva, with Louise Adler and Konstantin Krimmel as Susanna and Figaro. Avery Amereau sings Cherubino, while Dorothea Röschmann, Willard White, and Tansel Akzeybek portray the opera’s scheming trio: Marcellina, Bartolo, and Basilio.
Mälkki will return to the production on July 3, with an encore performance for the Munich Opera Festival.
