On October 27, 28 & 29 violinist Leila Josefowicz is the soloist for Francesconi’s Duende: The Dark Notes, a concerto originally premiered in collaboration between Mälkki and Josefowicz. The program also includes Berlioz’ Queen Mab Scherzo and Symphonie Fantastique.

The following weekend, November 2 – 5Ms. Mälkki leads four performances of Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with a talented young cast, alongside the Women of the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
